idle thoughts…

The Internet has  probably become the most important gathering medium ever. So don’t you find it frustrating when you find a site that has stagnated or just goes off line, and no mention of when, or if, it will return? Sadly, melbourn.org.uk fell into this category, for which we can only apologise. There are no excuses, such as work load or too many other projects on the go - that just doesn’t wash!

Anyway, here we are, with another new website, and what makes this totally revamped site any better, you may ask? Well, this site has the advantage that clubs and local groups in the village can have their own page. It will be up to the them to keep the pages up-to-date. What’s great about it is that it is a ‘live’ update in which they can instantly tell their members what’s going on.

Also included is an Events Calendar – a useful tool to remind others in and around the village what’s coming up. See the Calendar page on how to use it and the ‘rules’.  Enjoy!

Congratulations also to All Saints’ for completing the new Community Hall. The official opening is on June 21st, when it is hoped that many people will take the opportunity to view this new village amenity. The Saturday morning Coffee Stop will move into the Hall on June 28th, after 21 months at Vicarage Close. Vicarage Close is thanked for their help.
